Looking to upgrade my 2 rotor Lely 300 before next year, have looked at both the Massey 676 (standard tines) or 776 (hook tines) or the Malone 4 or 6 rotor, would be looking to use on 80 hp tractor, have 120 hp if required, making mostly hay, thanks in advance

We have run a Malone 4 rotor for two seasons and really pleased with it. Had Lely before and ran that into the ground. Malone build quality appears to be far heavier and I like the simple things such as how simple it is to grease. Follows the ground well even on our grazing marshes and the steering headstock is good and simple. We do about 200 acres of hay and silage with the hay turned 5/6 times and haven't broken a tine yet. Would definitely have another one. We ran it on a JD 6210 last year (about 90hp) and a 6410 this year. Can sometimes make the front lift a bit if you let the clutch out to quick but then a few weights would easily sort it

Bought a Malone this year. Its superb. I cant fault it. Does a great job in heavy or light crops and the tedder doesn't give the impression it'll rattle itself to pieces within a season or 2.

Get one bought before people cotton onto the fact they are very good and Malone put the price up!!!

Bought a 6 rotor, 8.4m. I've run it on a JD 6210, 6430, 6130M and a NH T6 and it is fine on any of them. Infact I think it runs best on the 6210 as its small and nimble for headland turns etc.
As said before buy the biggest you can. I love the fact we can run the tedder nice and steady and comfortably do what we want without chasing around a field in a hurry.

i currently use my 2WD Massey 6120, and would like to keep using it for tedding, just think 8.4 mtr might be a bit on the big side for it ?

I am not sure what power/size your MF is but my 6210 is a small 4 pot 90hp tractor and is man enough with a small set of weights on the front.
