Forecast dry tomorrow. Want to spray T2 on Winter Barley. Took a look to see if I should fit the row crop wheels. No chance!
But the damp is doing far more good than what I’ll squash with standard wheels.

It’s been a Lovely on / off wet week for N application.

it can keep raining a bit here, was so dry the ground has soaked it up like blotting paper ! Would be nice if it cleared up for 2 days end of next week to apply fungicide to barley and rye though, them more if the same plus some sun all the way to harvest please!,

Hell of a drought though, wasn't it ? eh ? eh ?
Not like one of those limp todger Aussie droughts..... 🤫

it has cost us yields on lighter soil wheat was dropping tillers fast

that’s 3 dry yields limiting springs in a row for us now, a long way form Australian extremes BUT the UK used to be the best climate for wheat growing in the world

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
