Doesn't need to happen on Christmas Day currently. Lost drive on the quad, grinding sound from final drive on rear axle. This happened weekend before Christmas, Monday morning phoned up dealer to be told that they doubt it will be fixed that week but they will try if not it will be in the new year. Had not heard anything by last Thursday, happened to be in the area of the dealer so popped in to the service dept. and asked what was happening. They did not seem to have any record of my call. Of course it is now Thursday and they are on a half day on Friday and then closed until the new year. Booked quad in now for 5th January so now without it until then, trying to check stock with Disco and walking but fields are soaking.

A Honda by any chance? With careful planning you can dodge round in front wheel drive. Not too hard to get the axle out and add some pigeon sh1t to the splines.

Then plan for replacement.

When you burn out all your spare belts on an 80 tonne mother bin because the floor auger is jammed with dust & silt ( because the wheat you are harvesting was covered in flood water ) & all the local shops have decided they’ve had the sh1!s with 2021 & just shut down between Christmas & next week . . .
Quick trip to Tamworth that I didn’t need

If you lived in the U.K., you would know that nobody ever needs to go to Tamworth.

haha, actually Tamworth NSW is a very pleasant big country town ( classed as a “city” here but probably more like a village for you with about 33,000 people )

more importantly, it is the nearest main regional centre. Tamworth, Moree & Dubbo being the 3 main centres in inland northern NSW
