Anyone used one of these .....are they any good ?
No the tines are very much shorter and straighter. I like ours on overwintered ploughing for beet. Unless well weathered not a heavy land tool. Are they not basically a trailed tripleK with levelling boards and extra whirly cage packer elements that spin to break the remaining lumps?
Had quite a following to pull beet land that had been winter ploughed into a drillable tilth.
We were looking to buy one a few years back then realised it wasn't man enough for our heavy land.so we bought a top tilth similar machine but twice as strongNo the tines are very much shorter and straighter. I should say 2 passes with a germinator may not be as visually appealing as 1 with the maschio but here generally results in better beet establishment. If it’s dry I sometimes roll in front of the first pass or in between passes. I have a 4m but would like a 5m as it would allow me to work sections behind the wheels deeper. No the tines are very much shorter and straighter. I like ours on overwintered ploughing for beet. Yes. Cue the you could drag a bedstead across that and have a seedbed chat……. My land certainly has more body than that. The new germinator pro is next levelI’ve got one ,it does a good job on light ground.View attachment 1031036
On that land it looks the perfect cultivator and cheaper to run than a power harrowI’ve got one ,it does a good job on light ground.View attachment 1031036
Are you an onion grower?I’ve got one ,it does a good job on light ground.View attachment 1031036
Nope, just wheat and barley. Are you an onion grower?
If it’s potato land it will work fine but in that scenario it would act like a buck rake I think. I’d suggest a triple k or a vaderstad nz with the following Harrow to do that task in one pass; something with more room in.........so am I right in saying the ground has to be fairly kind for one ?
Most of our ground is heavy..ish.
I was wondering what it would be like after potatoes for putting in a temporary grass seed on or would the haulm block it up . I.e. Would it need ploughing first ?
