Thinking of changing our JD 6110se tractor. Can't be much bigger in size due to it been on the straw chopper throughout winter and our sheds aren't the biggest! Were an upland beef and sheep farm so during the summer will be needed to do reseeding, fertilising, lugging bales/silage etc. Have a loadall and a JD 6115m on the loader as well as our main tractor, but that's too big really around the sheds?
Not fussed on make JD, Massey, NH, Kubota all have dealers nearby! Ideally something small with a bit of poke about it. What are people's thoughts on what to get? Not heard very good reviews on the 5 series JD🤷‍♂️
Thanks

We have a 5100m it has been ok .
Is good on the PTO we run a 8ft disc mower it does all the bale wrapping and normally runs the trailed Khun primor .
Not the heaviest of back ends but will carry 1.2 ton of fert quite happily.
They are simple to service, not to big for the HP 😀 ours has done 6300 odd hrs so hope this helps.

Obvious one is a new 6110m,same wheelbase as your old 61,and snoopy bonnet. Not cheap tho.
As said, this seems like the obvious choice. Those new 6M's seem to be well regarded. In fact, even the base model, 6090m would probably as capable as your current 6110se, unless your's is turned up at the pump like so many of them were, in which case you'd want to be looking at the 6120m to match it.....

Hows your m7 kvts doing? Have u many hours on them now and have they gave any trouble
Going well, thanks.Just ordered another 7173 kvt to replace the 18 plate 7172 which has done 2500 hours.
No trouble at all really,we had a new armrest with all the controls on the other 7173 which was a loose wire from new.I think there maybe been the odd sensor but nothing which has actually stopped any of the tractors working.

Cradock tractors always have some good used 1s for sale at less than other brands which sparked a bit of interest for me

Unless it's on its way to 20,000 hours or is completely wrecked I'd keep what you have and perhaps spend a few quid on it.
How many hours has it done, annual workload etc?
Ye might just keep it to be honest, it's an 02 with 7k on the clock, it's reasonably tidy, hasn't done much heavy work, just fancied something a bit fresher before we had to start spending on it! Other than a few burst pipes the only things it's had is a head gasket done. Had it since new new and been a good tractor to be honest
