I don't think that I've ever seen a Kioti in the metal. I looked up the dealersip map on the Kioti website. I'm in the middle of an area where the nearest one to me is at least 30 miles away and most 40 or more in all directions. It's no wonder that I've never seen one.
RECO were importing them and had started shifting a good few before they went bust. Probably talking a while to re establish under other importers

So. Went and saw a dk4520.

Looks... I mean.. like a small tractor.

Had confirmation that a boom is also made on south Korea by LS tractors.

Appears as if it really is 5k for a name badge and 4 years LESS warranty

Well.... things have escalated....
Kubota L1 452 has come in at a very respectable price...

saw one today and without doubt is a chunkier machine compared too the kioti ... by a sizable 205kilo!

Kubota also outweighs the boomer by a 75kg and again simply appears to be the chunkier bit of equipment.

I have a 48hp Kubota L1501 with hydrostatic transmission and no cab, it's 2 years old. I chose to have an MX front loader rather than a Kubota one. It has a topper on it all summer which provides sufficient counter balance, but I put a weight block on it for the winter months. It's well made and I like it a lot.

@Boysground has a cabbed one of about that size, I'm not exactly sure which model. He has spoken highly of it.

I have driven most of the brands mentioned above and all will do a job for you. I personally would avoid the Solis. I found them to be very basic, very under performing and noisy. Also parts back up and resell would worry me. All the others are good contenders and I would go with who ever offers you the right deal (not necessary the cheapest) and you feel will look after you. We went for a Boomer 50 on our farm a few years ago with a MX loader and have been very happy with it. Performs well and touch wood has not been any bother. Some of the parts prices I have seen are eye watering though but I think this may be the same with them all!

Would a hydrostatic drive have the efficiency to put the power to the ground for a bit of draught work, or are the hydraulic efficiency losses not an issue for most low speed jobs?

Thanks for that.

Having gone thru a lot of research.

The Solis was OUT at round 1 due to too many horror stories!!

the kioti then became the firm favorite Vs the boomer 50 due to the boomer being 3.75K more expensive!

Then Kubota jumped into the mix with a offering LOWEST price vs Kioti.... but the loader from Kubota wasn't parallel and thus needed a MX C4+.

Bottom line.... looks like the boomer has trumped all has we've negotiated a 4k discount đź‘Ś

And now the boomer 50 with MX C4+ is best value.

Reading through this it’s screaming at me MF 135, or possibly 2, will be worth more than you paid when these other alternatives are scrap. Parts easy to get, easy to work on

Watching my 9yr old operate a HST mini loader while I offer guidance and help stabilize the load she is trying to get thru a door.... ZERO... absolutely ZERO chance that I would let her operate an old Fergie. She once tried to operate the clutch on her gramps one.... not a hope in hell!!

But the HST... it's spot on...

Modern kit has a place. đź‘Ť

It's all about convenience. My purchase of the Kubota would make no business sence at all, but I'm not in business, I'm retired. I've found that the older I've got the more that I'm prepared to buy myself out of trouble. I want something to work flawlessly everytime, I just don't want the hassle of breakdowns, or oil dripping on the concrete.

My tractor is just a tool that makes my life easier. I could afford it, so why not. We all buy things because we want to. One of my sons has an expensive boat and my daughter has just bought a motor caravan.

Don't ask me about the light aircraft that I've had. Haha.

Well we all do what we want but there`s no way we`d have been driving a tractor at 9 yrs old.. The old man would have had a fit!
Although NO experience of dinky tractors here so maybe shouldn`t comment but I`d personally much prefer something a bit larger ( wider and longer!) something like a MF 135, DB 885 or IH B414 - I just feel they`ll "boss" an implement/trailer far better and potentially allow more uses (for example they can just about manage a Hayzip (with a bit of caution!),a 3 ton trailer, a small baler, or a small drum or disc mower.... ( hard hat on now!:ROFLMAO:)
