I don't know your laws too well I'm in the USA but for bale wrap good lockback razor knife (Stanley or home depot brand). For general farm use knife I've gone to a Buck 110 carried in belt sheath. Might seem kinda strange to carry a hunting lockback but the 110 is very rugged and holds up and Buck stands behind them if anything goes wrong.

Had this Leatherman I’m sure 10 years, keeps good edge. Folding Stanley knife lies in Matbro for bales as nothing blunts a knife like bale wrap

I got the itch. It’s new knife time! I’m sure this has been discussed ad nauseum but I’m looking for suggestions on your favorite camp knives.

In particular, this is for luxe car camping. I have a few bushcraft specific fixed blades but need something that can stay on the belt all weekend and perform all the little camp chores that pop up around the camp site, with a heavy emphasis on cooking and food prep. Ideal would be something that works well on a cutting board for everything from veggies to slicing meat, then can prep kindling or carve some pegs and notch out pot stands. Essentially what I’m looking for is the ultimate knock around woods blade for someone who doesn’t end up more than 100 yards from the fire pit.

I’d prefer stainless, at least 4-5” blade length. I’m really leaning towards a Canadian belt style or Nessmuk design just because I love the aesthetics of those patterns but open to any suggestions. Price less of a concern. Pics are welcome, thanks in advance!

Edit: Oh and fairly important, my mother was a witch so I’m left handed. Bonus points for an ambi or leftie sheath option.

Opinel, probably a No. 12.

I need a fresh knife as my old one has fallen to bits, however cutting things may not be the priority, I mainly use my knife for scraping things, screwdriver, lever, poking and prodding. Cutting is just a bonus

Small enough to be comfortable in hand and pocket but with the basic tools you say you need. Love mine.

I made mine, wouldn't go back to a folding knife now, although I do carry a leatherman micra, but I do find it strange that I know if its not in my pocket, but I hardly ever remember to leave it out when I should, have had a few "oh sh!t" moments in supermarket petrol station.

Used to work in a tackle shop, so I got to mess around with quite a lot of knives.

I don't think you can beat Opinel for value, not stainless though so need regular sharpening. Buck seem to have a fair few fans, but seem a bit pricey compared to the Opinels.
Anything Mora is an excellent knife and they can be had cheaply - I've had my fixed blade one for years, holds an edge and is sharp enough to shave your wrist.

If you want to fillet things, you can't go wrong with Martiiini

Another vote for Mora from me.

Since I lost my hideously expensive Strider a few years ago i've been loathe to spend big money on a knife again. Mora Hunter is cracking bit of kit for the price, carbon steel with a Scandi grind so easy to keep razor sharp and you won't be too bothered if you lose it.
