Hello, I'm looking for a good pocket knife I can carry for a long time. I don't want to buy something cheap. I just need a regular knife I usually prefer one blade that locks. I don't need anything with a bunch of crazy hi-tech buttons and switches either. just a good quality pocket knife that'll last a while something that won't break the bank and has a good reputation. and if you know where I could buy the one you recommend at a store. I don't want to buy online because I want to see the knives in person. I appreciate all the help thanks, guys.

my Schrade “Old Timer” has carbon steel blades.
VERY popular “farmers” knife here back in the day, with the pick & tweezers ( stored in the handle ) & 2 blade shapes.
Love this old knife ( I’ve probably had it 35 years ? ) but the extra features & versatility of the Leatherman means it is now my “everyday” knife & couldn’t live without

Good knives. I have a small double blade with scissors that goes with everywhere with me including in town etc as it's legal and a larger skinning blade knife For calves and lambs.

excellent steel that gets sharp and keeps sharp...... has a nice patina to it as well.

The old “old timers” are a brilliant knife but also my leatherman surge is my go to knife now

Good knife storage is just as important but I use an Australia hobble belt I had made 12 years ago and worn ever since though need to restitich it as off a couple days ago

yeah, i could never carry anything in my pocket apart from a handkerchief

always carry a knife in a pouch & for years I also used to wear a fob watch in a pouch on the belt as well

For me, one handed opening is essential (even though I have two hands).
