Short disc ..... any good

Just to add to my last post OSR in the photo was one pass sowing into a sprayed off grass ley... no subsoiling or any other prep to the land. Just straight in with short discs and seeder unit.

Could a short disc with levelling boards be used to replace a power Harrow working on ploughed land with the drill on as well as for working stubbles?
I’m considering one for drilling forage covers after whole crop wheat and started wondering if it would allow me to get rid of the power Harrow too..

I run mine over all ploughed land before drilling.i do use a combination as that’s all I have but land woukd drill perfectly ok with just a drill.i get more than double the output from my combination as the ground is preformed.power Harrow tines last 3times longer too.

Thanks, does yours have any tines on too? Or just the discs and packer?

Yep. It seems the supplying dealer can’t spell it hence my confusion.

If you are trying to work wet ground the power Harrow may beat a disc cultivator. If it’s not too wet and vaguely friable then it’s all good.

The roller on the back makes a huge difference imo.

Discs look well worn.i think on the rolmakoevery disc has a grease nipple and not sealed for life as on proforge inverta

Customer sent this of working on forage rape stalks, very pleased - Rolex are good for smaller machines but having “slight” issues with there bigger trailed ... hence the change of colour
