Looking to upgrade my 2 rotor Lely 300 before next year, have looked at both the Massey 676 (standard tines) or 776 (hook tines) or the Malone 4 or 6 rotor, would be looking to use on 80 hp tractor, have 120 hp if required, making mostly hay, thanks in advance
Any farmer that cant drive a tedder is lazy sorry couldnt resist thatI'd like to buy a tedder but then I'd have to use it. Just phone a contractor instead .
I know when I would get off to ted everything else will go txts up in the yard. Eg cow calving.calves break out. Cows break out. Heifers break out.you know what I mean. More pressure and another headache at grass timeAny farmer that cant drive a tedder is lazy [emoji23] sorry couldnt resist that
What's a realistic work rate with a 6 rotar tedder. With a silage contractor coming and ni weather ,the window can be small. Last time I had the grass tedded the contractor sent 3 teddersI would rather ted my grass out myself then get a contractor in to do it
I bought a 4rotor krone brand new last year and my thoughts are on it it doesn't seem to spread the grass out seems to lump it up I tried setting it defent ways but still the same so iv sold it know and looking at getting a lely because they seem to spread the grass far better
What's the point in tedding out silage when the mower has got a conditioner on it.
Iv got a disc mower so that's why I ted out my grass silageContradicting yourself there?
We had a 4 star krone, upgraded and I mean upgraded to an 8 star pottinger, slower forward speed, smaller rotors = no lumps!
I wouldn't ted if I hot the grass cut dry but it's a battle against the weather here in niWhat's the point in tedding out silage when the mower has got a conditioner on it.
Shush! They’re meant to be a secret!Just bought a 4 rotor SIP with hooked tines but it won't get used now till next year I think,
Shush! They’re meant to be a secret!
I’ve never said they were a gimmick. They were a necessity for wider diameter rotors. I’ve used them back to back so many times that I’ve lost count and honestly you hardly see any difference between hook tines and small diameter rotor’d tedders with vertical tines. But the market speaks so we now offer a choice. The hay men appear to prefer the small rotor diameter tedders In the main (not all but many I know)After years of saying hooked tines were just a gimmick, I’m not surprised...
