Planning to buy a combibaler. Right now im between fusion 4 and krone comprima cf 155 xc and waiting a quote for Massey baler. Im worried that my tractors are lacking power to run fusion, but fusion is 4000 euro cheaper than krone. Currently i have mf 5465(120hp) and Mf 5713(130 hp). We dont have hills and we try to finish silage before the ground gets wet in the fall. What would you choose?

How many bales you make a year

Both of those tractors should run those balers. Hills, soft ground and blunt knives are what sap all the power. I only have experience with the Massey out of those 3 options but they've just brought out a new model which has a different netting table. All 3 should be good balers, depends which dealer is best around you I'd say. Can you get a demo off them all?

Is massey ferguson baler good and realiable? Half a year ago they asked 112k for massey combibaler but dealer promised to try to get abetter price. Krone is 99k and mchale 95K. All are low spec.

Fusion all day long.
I guess it's the additional weight that would put the most strain on your tractor as surely the wrapper isn't going to take much work.
If you don't have hills then you'll get away with alot less ponies.

Seem to be. They bought Lely/welger and have updated them since. 2 years ago one without a rapper brand new with knives was 35k. At the same time one with a wrapper was 65k if I remember correctly. In my opinion the McHale have copied a lot of the welger design.

Class baler with the density cranked up would take all of the 120hp so don't look at one of theirs. Kuhn tandem axle combi might be easier to manage and does a good bale

About 1200 silage and 500-1500 hay. But planing to expand when milk prices rise

For what you're looking to do any of them will do it. Personally my choice would be a one or 2 season old fusion 3+ bought off a mchale dealer. It'll be sorted if there was any issues new and will have been through the workshop and should be sold with some warranty. HP wise you'll be ok not set any speed records on hills but as doing your own I wouldn't worry. My first fusion was on a 140hp claas now on a massey 7719S. Have a 5713S that I could put fusion on if I had to and so long as ground was dry and not too steep I don't think I'd be too worried.

@Indrek I used the New Holland version of the combi a couple of years ago and had it on a Case Maxxum 125, a six-cylinder tractor that boosts to around 165hp and it handled it fine. Couple of annoyances with things on the baler such as the latches for holding the film are not spring loaded by use an over centre latch etc. The report is in the 4/2022 issue of profi

Planning on pulling today's purchase with 125hp, I hope. Handled wrapper towed behind baler fine, although combi is a fare bit heavier. Worked out old setup cost £0.55 per bale & wrap over 12 seasons/28500 bales, think this will cost more.
