I'm a simpleton but that setups pretty hard to beat. I rarely use the buttons on the joystick on new Holland! Just engage autosteer. I setup hms after I had finished drilling! Too much of a hash to fudge about with it when rain on way !

Shuttle use left hand lever next to steering wheel. For the lift I use rocker next to draft control. Spools I use paddles.
I really miss the lift control of the JD if I'm in something else that 1 in the picture is a 6930 so still has the slide but both our 7020/30 and the R it's all done on the lift switch and I get on really well ploughing with it so as soon as I try something else it's an instant put off for me .

Only time I ever use HMS is drilling and not for endrigs the rest of the time I like to actually drive the tractor so don't like controls scattered around so the JD armrest is pretty damn good .

It's by far jds best option but just falls short unfortunately. Especially pedal control and comfort. Has advantages over fendt no doubt but as I find with most jds, it's a case of what could have been.

thats what I find too. They are nearly there but not quite.
Round here everyone buys them as they won’t look outside their little bubble for something else.
Guy that we work with has just bought a 7495 mf and it’s the same. Nearly there. I know they are old tech now but without tms it makes it a hard drive

each to their own and it’s what you are used to but I find when subsoiling in a 8r it’s almost impossible to get the draft control set up and working right.

the fendt has normal draft control but also what seems to be set of gps. Not sure if it is gps but it is brilliant so responsive it makes the job a doddle

I just like my normal autopower too much

I can do everything I want with 1 hand with no need for a joystick. I've driven this setup for a long time now and there's nothing any better

I will tell you the biggest bonus of having a CVT Deere.

The main controls are all on your armrest. This means you avoid the usual JD driver 'Bridgewater-Quasimodo' posture with one extended right arm all day meaning you sit in the seat like a sack of spuds and have the posture of a 90 year old dowager by the time you are 30.

Whichever person designed the original should have been forced to drive every Deere model featuring that fudging right hand console until his right arm had grown 4 inches longer than his right. This may explain of course why the fudge the seat isn't in line with the steering wheel.

Fendt spools??

I can get some into float as in the 2 assigned to the joystick and the wee cross joystick with the 2 buttons on the front but how do you float the 4 paddles?

Rarely use them. Do they go into float at full forward but the paddle returns to middle instead of staying down like most?

If you buy a Fendt have one more spool than you need then you can have one dedicated to the pickup hitch. My brown spool switch on the bank of 4 is only the hitch. Means no swapping of pipes when I take the drill on and off, it uses all the other spoils.

Also have the spools with the quick release lever alongside the connector ( can’t remember the proper name) they are so much better, release under pressure.

I like the exhaust break and use it loads. The JD drivers on the farm (I have both makes) never use it when they drive a Fendt.
